Baron Davis Hits Court in First Knicks Practice

By Michael P. Ventura | January 23, 2012 2:27pm

MANHATTAN — Baron Davis, the all-star point guard many Knicks fans are counting on to help the team out of its current slump, took the court Monday for his first practice this season.

Davis had been recovering from a herniated disk when he signed with the team during the brief post-lockout preseason. He could make his Knicks debut when the team takes on Houston on Saturday, the New York Post reported.

The team released a video Monday morning of Davis shooting jumpers at the Knicks' practice facility in Westchester County.

The arrival of Davis can't come at a better time for the Knicks, who are mired in a 6-10 record.

"Every team goes through adversity," Davis told the Post. "This is our adversity. There was all the hype about us winning the championship. Judge us at the end of the season. Our goal is to be ready by April."
