QUEENS — A woman was critically injured after being struck by a school bus in Jamaica Thursday afternoon — one of six people hurt in the wild crash, authorities said.
The mayhem unfolded on Liverpool Street and Glassboro Avenue about 2:45 p.m., when the bus slammed into the 52-year-old pedestrian, FDNY officials said.
The victim suffered serious leg trauma and was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition, fire officials said.
One other person was seriously injured in the crash. Four others suffered minor injuries.
It was not immediately clear if any children were on the bus.
It also was not clear if there was any criminality involved in the incident.
The Department of Education said the bus company that owns the vehicle is not used by the city school system.
