Jay-Z Writes Love Song for Newborn Daughter Blue Ivy Carter

By Sonja Sharp | January 9, 2012 2:28pm

UPPER EAST SIDE — Jay-Z's got a new hit — his baby girl.

The hip-hop honcho penned a love song for his bouncing bundle of joy, calling her his "greatest creation" and "the most beautiful girl in the world" in an emotional tribute tribute that revealed that his wife, Beyonce had a miscarriage.

The rapper tweeted the ode to little Blue Ivy Carter, called "Glory feat. B.I.C" less than two days after  Beyonce, 30, gave birth at Lenox Hill Hospital in superstar fashion.

"Words can't describe the feeling I feel," the proud papa sings in the song, hosted on the social media website lifeandtimes.com. "Baby, I paint the sky blue. My greatest creation is you."

The track appears on the site with a picture of the Empire State Building, tinted blue, like the name of his daughter, who he hints was conceived in Paris.

In the song, Jay-Z, 42, whose real name is Shawn Carter, makes a painful allusion to Beyonce having had a miscarriage.

"Last time the miscarriage was so tragic," he says. "We was afraid you'd disappear. But nah baby, you magic."

He also speaks about the "false alarms and false starts" and said "all the pain of the last time, pray so hard it was the last time."

Blue is the first child for the power couple, who got married in a private ceremony in 2008.

Rumors of Beyonce being pregnant, which swirled for years, were finally confirmed at MTV's Video Music Awards in August when she rubbed her belly.

Since her birth Saturday night, Blue has become New York's biggest celebrity.

Photographers and TV crews flanked the hospital, on East 77th Street and Lexington Avenue, and nearly 50 reporters camped by the front entrance, while another crowd staked out a back door.

Photographers on bicycle circled the building, snapping shots through windows.

"I had no idea what this was going on," said Australian tourist John Day, 23. "We are thinking about going up there and giving our congratulations."

But it's highly unlikely he would have got anywhere near the pop princess. Security at the hospital was extremely tight, with the fourth floor on complete lockdown.

Beyonce and Jay-Z reportedly rented and renovated part of the hospital for $1.3 million.
