MANHATTAN — This "California Gurl" is going to have to find another boy.
Singer Katy Perry, 27, and British comedian Russell Brand, 36, are calling it quits after a little more than a year of marriage, the Associated Press reported Friday.
"Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends," Brand, 36, who filed the divorce petition in Los Angeles, told the AP.
The couple, which snapped up a $2.7 million townhouse in Tribeca in September, reportedly cited "irreconcilable differences" in their divorce petition.
Brand became a star in the United States with roles in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "Get Him to the Greek".
Katy Perry rocketed to fame in 2008 with the song "I Kissed a Girl," followed by hits including "Firework."
