Giants and Jets Fans Pumped for Christmas Eve Showdown

MANHATTAN — Get ready for the showdown at the swamp.

The Giants and Jets are gearing up for a 1 p.m. battle at MetLife Stadium that holds the playoff hopes of each team in the balance and has left fans buzzing about the crosstown rivalry.

Big Blue is coming off an abysmal performance against the Washington Redskins last week in which Eli Manning was picked off 3 times and a number of crucial passes were dropped.

The Giants wound up losing the game 23-10 to the then 4-9 Skins after coming out strong with an interception in the opening minutes, leaving them with a 7-7 record.

Last week, the Jets — technically the home team in Saturday's matchup — were trounced by the Eagles 45-19, dropping their record to 8-6 and leaving them fighting for their playoff lives.

Anticipation of the battle between the two hometown teams has sparked a friendly war of words on both sides of the ball.

"Prediction time:The Giants will beat the Jets 34-24 because the Giants are a good team & the Jets are ALL talk," tweeted @Knighthoward93.

And @Jamie_Espinal wrote: "Predictions- Giants over the jets to KNOCK THE JETS OUT THE PLAYOFFS! I LOVE IT!"

But there were plenty of fans in Gang Green's corner.

"let's go jets....pUT THESE gIANTS out of their misery....lol," tweeted @radiocitadelle.

And @Garvin_Brown wrote: "all i want for christmas is a giants loss and eagles win #pleasesanta."
