
MANHATTAN — More than 120 firefighters were battling a blaze Tuesday evening that started in a basement electrical room at 600 Third Ave., FDNY officials said.
Thirty-six firefighting units responded to the call at Third Avenue and East 39th Street at 6:50 p.m. No injuries were immediately reported, officials said. The fire was contained nearly an hour later.
The 42-story building from 1970 is home to such tenants as Court TV and the missions of New Zealand and Austria, according to a building fact sheet.
