MANHATTAN — One of the suspects wanted for robbing a string of Manhattan stores during a weeks-long crime spree has been arrested by police, the NYPD said.
Duwayne Bascom, 30, of Brooklyn, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly participating in at least seven robberies of businesses from the Financial District to Chelsea between late October and last week, police said.
He and a male accomplice allegedly vaulted over countertops and cleaned out cash registers. They're also accused of attacking employees at stores ranging from bodegas to Subways and a Duane Reade, according to the NYPD.
Bascom was charged with robbery in the incidents, which totaled 14 between the two suspects, police added.
