MURRAY HILL — A fire broke out inside a high-rise on East 38th Street Monday morning, injuring one person, authorities said.
The blaze started about 9:15 a.m. in a fifth-floor living room of the 33-story residential building, Murray Hill Mews, at the corner of Third Avenue, the FDNY said.
The person suffered unknown injuries in the fire, but was treated at the scene and released, fire officials said.
A witness said she saw the victim being brought from the building.
“There was an old lady on a stretcher,” said Gina Notes, 27, who works in the building. “She looked disoriented.”
Firefighters were still working to bring the blaze under control as of 10 a.m.
