Third Eye Blind, Jackson Browne to Rock Occupy Wall Street

By Sonja Sharp | December 1, 2011 10:29am

MANHATTAN — Nineties rockers Third Eye Blind and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jackson Browne are the latest musicians to play Zuccotti Park in support of the ousted Occupy Wall Street movement.

The pair are the first to perform at the park since the encampment was demolished last month. Former Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, hip-hop artist Talib Kweli and folk legends Arlo Guthrie, David Crosby and Graham Nash are among those who have performed at the park in support of the movement. Folk singer and activist Joan Baez also played at an OWS event.

Third Eye Blind, famed for their 1997 anthem "Semi-Charmed Life", are expected to take the stage for erstwhile occupiers at noon, according to press release. Browne is expected to perform at 1 p.m.

"The 60's peace movement had Dylan, Lennon and The Byrds," wrote Twitter user stephenlundberg. "OWS has Third Eye Blind."
