MANHATTAN — The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? There’s an app for that.

The Manhattan-based company MyCityWay has created a free mobile application containing a wealth of information about the 85-year-old parade, which will meander through the streets of New York on Thanksgiving Day.

The company released the app for the iPhone on Friday, and the Android version will be available Sunday.

“[The] Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has always been an event about surprise and spectacle,” said Amy Kule, executive producer of the parade, in a statement.

“With this mobile app, we are putting fun and useful information in the hands of Macy’s parade fans, bringing them closer to the magic.”

The app charts the path of the parade, from its start at West 77th Street and Central Park West to its finish in front of Macy’s on West 34th Street and Sixth Avenue in Herald Square.

It includes information on parade events, including the inflation of the parade’s 15 giant character balloons and 44 novelty balloons set to take place the night before the parade, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at West 79th Street and Columbus Avenue.

The app will feature the lineup of parade participants and track their progress along the route in real time. Mobile users will also have access to fun facts about the parade, photos and videos, as well as information about area attractions, WiFi hot spots and the locations of nearby public restrooms.

The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. on Thurs., Nov. 24.
