Armed Man Robs Three Parking Garages in Month

MANHATTAN — Police are hunting a man wanted for attempting to rob at least three parking garages in the past month.

On Sep. 9 and Sep 15, the suspect walked into garages at 403 Lafayette Street and 479 West Street, threatened workers with a gun and snatching unknown amounts of money.

On Sep. 22, he entered the Edison Parking Garage at 161 10th Avenue and fired one round into the floor before getting away with cash. There was no injury reported.

All three robberies took place at night or in the early morning hours, police said.

The suspect is described as man between 40 and 50-years-old and 200-250 lbs. He wore a dark hat and walked with a limp.
