MANHATTAN — Pop the cork!
Mega movie theater chain AMC is considering bringing restaurants that serve booze to its New York theaters, according to the New York Post.
Under a new state law, moviegoers are allowed to bring alcohol into theaters as long as there is a restaurant that serves on the premises.
Lawmakers had hoped that the addition would help draw more adults to the theaters, the paper said.
AMC operates several theaters in Manhattan from Harlem to the Village, including the Angelika on Houston Street.
Nitehawk and indieScreen in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, are hoping to serve alcohol in the fall, according to the paper.
