MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — A Washington Heights man charged with killing two of his neighbors during a horrific stabbing spree was ordered held without bail Wednesday at his arraignment from the Bellevue Hospital psychiatric ward.
The accused killer, Christian Falero, 23, has been held at the hospital since his Aug. 23 arrest immediately following the quarduple stabbing.
Falero is charged with murdering Yanzhi Wang, 60, and Ignacio Collazo, 81, both tenants of 870 Riverside Dr., where Falero also lived.
Police said Falero barged into the apartment of Collazo and his wife and grabbed a 10-inch knife from their kitchen, using it to carry out the unprompted attack. Falero is also accused of repeatedly slashing Collazo's 75-year-old wife, who was treated and survived.

At the arraignment Wednesday, a psychiatric evaluation was ordered for Falero, who witnesses said was naked, bloodied and ranting on the street outside the building after the attack. The results of the exam will determine whether he's fit to stand trial.
Prosecutors said Falero has been indicted, but the document will remain sealed until his next court appearance on Oct. 4.
