Popular Wine Bar to Set Up Shop in Murray Hill

MURRAY HILL — Terroir, a wine bar and eatery with locations in the East Village and TriBeCa, will be opening a new branch in Murray Hill on Third Avenue between East 31st and East 30th streets, Grub Street New York reported.

Owners of the hot spot, which was named one of “Travel & Leisure” magazine’s 50 best new American restaurants in 2009, are in the midst of renovating the new space. It is expected to open in September.

The 55-seat venue will be designed to complement the history of Murray Hill, which was once home to farmland and mansions, wine director Paul Grieco told Grub Street.

While Grieco mans the wines, Chef Marco Canora manages the food, which consists mostly of Italian fare. The menu at the new location will likely stick to the restaurant’s existing roster of tried and tested dishes.

Representatives from the restaurant did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
