MANHATTAN — Prosecutors have allowed famed attorney Alan Dershowtiz to view a surveillance tape of his sister-in-law's fatal cycling crash in Chelsea, the lawyer said Tuesday.

Dershowitz said the DA was initially "stonewalling" his requests to view the tape of a US Postal truck striking and killing Marilyn Dershowitz earlier this month while she rode her bike on West 29th Street behind her husband.

Dershowitz and his nephew, a professional accident reconstruction expert, were finally allowed to view the tape in the DA's office on Tuesday, but they could not have a copy, he said.

"It was very informative," Dershowitz said, without elaborating. "The investigation is active and ongoing.

He would not say what was on the video, or whether the video showed misconduct on the part of the postal driver, Ian Clement, who has not been criminally charged.
