MANHATTAN — Disgraced Rep. Anthony Weiner has filed a formal letter of resignation from the House, effective midnight, Tues. June 21.

"It has been an honor to serve the people of Queens and Brooklyn," the Congressman wrote in the brief letter addressed to Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York Secretary of State Cesar Perales, which is just 37 words in length.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and House Speaker John Boehner were both cc'ed on the letter.

Sources said the resignation letter is expected to be laid down on the House floor Tuesday.

But the Congressman already appeared well on his way out on Monday.

Two giant blue recycling bins were spotted outside his Rayburn House office building in Washington, D.C., according to the Associated Press, prompting tourists to pose for pictures near the bins Monday.

Weiner, a once-likely mayoral candidate, saw his career tumble after he admitted to sending sexually explicit images and having inappropriate online conversations with at least half a dozen women, including a former porn star.

The photos included numerous cringe-worthy shots of the congressman in compromising positions, including holding his towel-clad crotch in what appears to be the House gym.

Weiner finally announced he would resign at a seniors' center in Brooklyn last Thursday after mounting pressure from party brass.
