MANHATTAN CRIMINAL COURT — A homeless man charged with stabbing a woman in the face with a pen after she asked him not to smoke a joint on a 3 train was indicted Monday, prosecutors said.

A lawyer for Coroberto Cordero, 35, appeared on his behalf for the indictment in Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday. Cordero was not required to appear before the judge. The indictment will remain sealed until Cordero's return to court on May 17.

Cordero was charged with felony assault, and possession of a weapon and marijuana upon his arrest on April 19.

"I was just trying to light my blunt and the b**ch wouldn't leave me alone, so I hit her," he allegedly told police after the attack.

"Leave me the f**k alone or I'll stab you," he had threatened, according to court papers.

The woman he attacked was identified in published reports as 45-year-old Evelyn Seeger of Nutley, N.J. She was taken to a nearby hospital for stitches, the DA said last week.
