MANHATTAN — The joke was on forecasters Friday as initial predictions of April snow never materialized and turned up as rain instead.
Temperatures remained in the low 40s Friday with a mix of rain and sleet expected, according to Accuweather. The precipitation should end later in the day as the storm front moves out of the area.
Upstate New York is still expected to get a few inches of snow, but not nearly as much as was predicted earlier this week. Meteorologists were expecting New York City to get from two to four inches of snow by Friday morning, but they revised their forecasts late Thursday.
The National Weather Service also lifted a winter storm warning issued for New York.
The weather will improve this weekend with passing showers and temperatures in the mid 50s on Saturday. Sunday will be sunny with a high temperature of of 56 degrees, according to Accuweather.
