MANHATTAN — The memories of Wednesday's rain will be washed away when temperatures climb into the 70s later this week in Manhattan.

Morning commuters are in for a wet one Wednesday morning, as heavy rains shower the city.

Forecasters expect the rain to taper off around 12 p.m., though there is a chance of more wet weather around 5 p.m., according to Accuweather.com.

There are no reported subway or commuter train delays, but traffic on the roads could get tricky for commuters during rush hour.

Temperatures are expected to be mild throughout the day Wednesday, rising to a high of 58 degrees in the afternoon.

Forecasters are calling for mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s for Thursday's St. Patrick's Day parade. The temperature is expected to top out at 70 degrees on Friday with more warm weather and sun forecasted for the weekend.

Commuters were greeted with heavy rain early Wednesday morning.
