MIDTOWN — A woman who was raped in her room at the Dream Hotel by an employee has filed a lawsuit against the hotel, according to the New York Post.

The victim is seeking unspecified damages from the hotel's corporate parent, Surrey Hotel Associates, for alleged negligent hiring and training of Jaime Marin Lopez Mendoza, who was charged with the rape, according to the paper.

The victim was sexually attacked by Mendoza on Dec. 27, 2009, at the hotel at West 55th Street.

Mendoza was convicted of first-degree rape in January and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

A spokesman for the hotel did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Post.
