MANHATTAN — The weather rollercoaster continued Thursday as New Yorkers just starting to get used to slightly warmer days were slapped with another round of bitter cold.

"I'm sick of winter, I'm ready for flowers," Upper West Sider Betsy Busch-Le Né said she walked her dog, Ollie, through Central Park.

Temperatures hovered in the low 20s during the Thursday morning commute and were expected to stay below freezing all day despite plenty of sunshine, according to AccuWeather.

"It's too damn cold," said Dan Jacobs, 74, of the East Side, as he jogged to work.

The chill left many straphangers, who had gotten used to the rainy but milder temperatures of the last week or so, unprepared for the sudden plummet back into icy weather.

Thursday's chill is expected to be short-lived with 40s returning on Friday and 50s over the weekend with rain in the forecast on Sunday, meteorologists said.
