MURRAY HILL — Worried about being all alone this Valentine's Day? Try a little puppy love instead.
An annual Valentine's Day "Yappy Hour" mixer offers a chance for singles and their canine companions to mingle, sip cocktails and talk all things pooch this Friday in Murray Hill's Carlton Hotel.
The pup mixer has attracted many dog-loving fans since it was started in 2001 by host Wendy Diamond, the author of "It's a Dog's World."
"looking forward to falling in love with some more puppies!!" Sara Rae Gore said on the event's Facebook page.
"I want to go :) love puppies" added Dana Brechner.
That's because dog-filled benefit is not only sure to delight, Diamond says, but it's for a good cause. All proceeds from the $50 admission go to the Humane Society of New York.
The mixer is also a great way for singles or couples to adopt and snuggle with rescue dogs at home.
The pooch party will be held at 8 p.m. at the Carlton Hotel on 29th Street and Madison Ave. For more information, visit the Animal Fair website.
