MANHATTAN — The loss of yet another laundromat in Hell's Kitchen has neighborhood residents commuting to get their clothes clean, according to the New York Post.

After the Laundromat at the corner of West 53rd Street and Ninth Avenue shuttered last week, West Side residents between West 51st and West 67th streets and between Eighth and Tenth Avenues have no place to do their laundry.

"I dragged my laundry through the snow, slush and backed-up traffic over to 51st and Tenth Avenue," Kathy Kalafut, who lives at West 55th Street and Eight Avenue, told the paper.

Christine Gorman, president of the West 55th Block Association, told the Post that the loss of laundromats is indicative of a decline in Hell's Kitchen services.

"The services in our neighborhood are disappearing," she said.

"There's rumors that the Laundromat is going to become a Citibank. We have to go farther and farther away, and we're worried about our quality of life."
