MIDTOWN EAST — A woman is lucky to be alive after falling under a subway train in Midtown on Thursday, transit and fire officials said.

The woman fell in front of a downtown 6 train at the East 59th Street and Lexington Avenue station just before noon, the MTA said.

She fell into the well between the tracks and two and a half cars passed over her, according to the MTA.

Two other straphangers managed to pull the woman, who wasn't seriously hurt by her plunge, back up onto the platform, transit officials said.

Transit officials said the woman was up and walking around after she was pulled up from the railbed.

The FDNY said the woman was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Train service was delayed for about an hour.
