MANHATTAN — "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan will miss at least two episodes of the popular comedy as he recovers from a kidney transplant, according to reports.

Morgan, who is diabetic, received the kidney transplant on Dec. 10 and is taking "some much needed time to recover after the surgery," his publicist said in a statement, according to Hollywood news website thewrap.com.

Morgan, 42, was diagnosed with diabetes in 1996; his "30 Rock" character, Tracy Jordan, is also diabetic. The show's writers will likely explain away his absence by giving him "some sort of a meltdown because of a good thing that’s happened to him," according to Entertainment Weekly's website.

Morgan, who was spotted at a post-surgery Knicks game last week, is expected to recover well and "is looking forward to going back to work after the holidays," his publicist said in the statement.
