MANHATTAN — Cathie Black — Mayor Bloomberg's controversial appointment to Schools Chancellor — has sold her Connecticut home, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

Black's antique colonial at 204 Curtis Rd. in Bridgewater, CT, sold for $1.98 million, 15 percent below the $2.35 million asking price, according to the paper.

The would-be Education Department chief paid $1.1 million for the house and an additional $200,000 for a neighboring 23 acres in 1998, reported the Times

The house features five bedrooms, four and a half baths and a charming red barn, according to the Klemm Real Estate listing.

With her ties to Connecticut now severed, Black's primary residence is a penthouse apartment at 941 Park Ave., according to several reports.
