MANHATTAN — Apparently, Mets top brass have decided a new GM isn't enough to put meat back in the seats.

In response to a miserable 2010 season that saw attendance at Citi Field drop 18 percent, the New York Mets have lowered ticket prices for the 2011 season.

The new plan reduces ticket prices by an average of more than 14 percent from last season, including 384,000 tickets that will cost $15 or less — that's over 100,000 more "cheap seats" than last season.

"We reduced ticket prices for 2011 based on fan feedback and marketplace information," Dave Howard, the Mets executive vice president of business operations, said in a statement.

The move came after the Mets completed their second consecutive losing season, finishing fourth in the NL East in 2010. More alarming to the front office, this past season saw the Amazin's attendance dropping more than 7,000 seats on average per game.
