MANHATTAN — Uptown 2/3 service was temporarily shut down Wednesday morning after an "emotionally disturbed person" entered the tracks, according the MTA.

The individual was spotted by a conductor on the uptown 2/3 tracks of the 125th Street station around 10:28 a.m., and service on the Westside line was immediately shut down to avoid crushing the trespasser, an MTA spokeswoman said.

The person was eventually apprehended by police and returned to the custody of a caregiver, allowing train service to resume at 10:50 a.m., according to the MTA.
