MANHATTAN — Starbucks customers looking for a quick cup of joe are just going to have to be patient.

Amid customer complaints about quality control, the popular coffee chain is telling its baristas to slow down, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

A new Starbucks policy mandates baristas to focus on no more than two drinks at a time, according to company documents reviewed by the paper.

Other rules include steaming milk for each drink rather than an entire pitcher for multiple drinks, rinsing pitchers after each use, and using only one espresso machine instead of two.

The new practices aim to ensure "the quality of the beverage in taste, temperature and appearance" and to reduce the "possibility for errors," the documents state, according to the Journal.

The new changes are expected be in place nationwide by next month.
