MANHATTAN — With a column in the Huffington Post and a Broadway show inspired by his hit children's program, Pee-wee Herman is back — and gallivanting around New York City, according to his Twitter.

Herman, whose "Pee-wee Herman Show" hits Broadway on Oct. 26, has been on a whirlwind tour of Manhattan so far, starting downtown and working his way up to Harlem.

He arrived on Monday and stopped by the New Yorker Festival, then tweeted a stop at the Intercontinental New York Times Square hotel on Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning it was off to "Live with Regis and Kelly," the nearby American Folk Art Museum, and then the set of Broadway show "Promises, Promises," where he missed star Kristin Chenoweth.

"I told them to tell you hi for me at the theater though," Chenoweth tweeted to him. "Would love to see it while I'm in town though!"

It was another busy day on Thursday, with a stop at the Brooklyn Bridge, what he thought was City Hall (it wasn't) Chinatown and Little Italy.

After a visit to Katz's Deli for a reuben sandwich and a stroll along Chelsea's High Line Park, Herman headed uptown to Harlem's Apollo Theater.

His next stop? A trip to famed Harlem soul food restaurant Sylvia's.

Pee-wee fans can follow Herman's Twitter feed for more updates.
