MANHATTAN — Hillary Clinton and Oprah Winfrey — watch your back. Lady Gaga is nipping at your heels on Forbes' annual "World's 100 Most Powerful Women" list, which was released by the publication on Wednesday.

Thanks to Forbes' new rating system, which takes "buzz factor" into account, Gaga broke the top 10 on the 2010 edition, coming in at number 7, not far behind Clinton and Winfrey.

"The women on our list, through their respective realms of power and influence, are shaping many of the agenda-setting conversations of our day," Forbes Woman vice president and publisher Moria Forbes told the the Daily News.

"They have built companies and brands, sometimes by non-traditional mean," she added.

Based on the "non-traditional" criterion, Gaga has the competition licked, having recently raised her profile by appearing in public in an evening gown made of raw meat.

In addition to her dominance on the pop charts, the Manhattan pop star recently crossed over into the political realm, tweeting a video message that implored the U.S. Senate to repeal "Don't Ask Don't Tell," a policy that prevents homosexuals from serving openly in the military.

Michelle Obama took the top spot, with Winfrey coming in third and Clinton coming in fifth.
