UPPER MANHATTAN — More than 250 swimmers took to the Hudson River on Saturday for the 12th Annual Little Red Lighthouse Swim, a 5.9 mile race that started on the Upper West Side and ended at the Inwood Canoe Club.

The 10K race was sponsored by the competitive racing group NYC Swim and attracted swimmers from all over the world, including Israel, Germany and Brasil. The course, which started at the 79th Street Boat Basin Marina, took participants north on the Hudson River, past the Palisades, Grant's Tomb, the Little Red Lighthouse and under the George Washington Bridge.

Columbia University Men's Swimming & Diving team member Harry Stevenson came in first place, completing the course in 1 hour, 17 minutes and 50 seconds. Manhattan resident Rondi Davies took second place, finishing less than four minutes later.
