MANHATTAN — Joe Torre and Don Mattingly are returning to the Bronx.

The former Yankees are coming back for a ceremony to honor George Steinbrenner on Monday, the New York Daily News reported.

The Bombers and Torre have had an icy relationship since the four-time championship manager walked out on a contract offer that he considered an insult after the 2007 season.

Mattingly was the Yankees hitting coach and he followed Torre to Los Angeles after being passed over for the manager's job by Joe Girardi.

Torre and Mattingly will be joined by other Yankee greats including Goose Gossage, David Wells and Roy White, the News reported.

Torre, who stepped down as the Dodgers manager on Friday, is rumored to be a candidate for numerous openings, including the Mets if Jerry Manuel is fired.

He told reporters he did not have any definite future plans.
