MANHATTAN — Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer is now a married man.
The pol wed his longtime girlfriend Elyse Buxbaum in New Haven, Conn., on Thursday, according to the New York Times' wedding section.
The two married out of state to protest that gay marriages are not legal in New York, the Times reported.
They are also planning a religious ceremony Sunday in New York City, the Times said.
Stringer has been the Borough President since 2006. Buxbaum is the director of grants and sponsorships at the Jewish Museum.
