MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — An elderly TV producer and his wife were arraigned Tuesday after throwing water glasses at each other during a fight at their Fifth Avenue apartment, prosecutors said.

The husband Sandy Frank, 81, and his wife Brenda, 57, face assault, weapons possession and other charges after police were called to their apartment at 910 Fifth Avenue about 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 23.

"I was trying to throw water at him, but the glass slipped out of my hand," Brenda Frank told police, according to a criminal complaint.

Her lawyer pointed out a "large gash above her right eye" during the hearing. It was unclear who had thrown the first glass.

Her husband, who also appeared in court, told police he disposed of the glass he threw.

The film distributor, who credits himself with distributing TV shows like "Lassie" and "You Asked For It," said he would pay for a his wife's hotel room so he could stay at their apartment.

Both are scheduled to return to court on separate dates in September.
