MANHATTAN — Manhattanites broke out their umbrellas for the second day in a row Monday as heavy rain continued to pound the city’s streets.

Central Park saw about 1.7 inches of rain fall on Sunday, according to National Weather Service data. The torrential conditions carried into Monday morning, finally letting up in the early afternoon.

The National Weather Service estimated that, as of 8 a.m. on Monday, approximately 2.05 inches of rain had fallen in Central Park since the onset of the storm.

Manhattan was spared from major flooding, but other boroughs were not as lucky. Queens residents dealt with flooding after the downpour Sunday, NY1 reported.

The wet conditions are expected to continue into the middle of the week, with light rain falling through Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
