MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — A former Catholic high school teacher pleaded guilty Tuesday to videotaping a women's locker room at a midtown YMCA where he moonlighted as a lifeguard.

David Canela, who was a teacher at St. Jean Baptiste High School, was charged with videotaping women undressing "on numerous occasions" at the YMCA at 224 East 47th Street and at the Lasker Rink and Pool in Central Park in 2009.

He planted the camera inside the locker room himself and even recorded one girl under 17 years old with the hidden camera, prosecutors charged.

Canela, 34, pleaded guilty to four counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance. When he's sentenced on Oct. 8, he could face up to one year in prison.
