UPPER EAST SIDE — There's a Situation brewing between New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and New York Gov. David Paterson over the show "Jersey Shore."
The two governors joked about who bears the responsibility for unleashing the cast of "Jersey Shore" on the world in separate interviews Sunday and Monday, the AP reported.
Christie threw the first punch in a Sunday taping of ABC's "This Morning" where he said that the hard-partying "Jersey Shore" cast giving New Jersey a bad name are actually all from New York.
"What it does is takes a bunch of New Yorkers… drops them at the Jersey Shore and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey. I can tell people: they want to know what New Jersey really is? I welcome them to come to New Jersey any time," Christie said on the show.
Paterson shot back Monday that the cast, including Jenni "J-Woww" Farley, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, DJ Ronnie D DelVecchio, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Vinnie Guadagnino may in fact hail from the Empire State, but they behave better when they're in New York.
Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola is the only cast member that is a New Jersey native, the New Jersey Star Ledger reported.
