UPPER MANHATTAN — Residents in certain areas of Inwood and Washington Heights will see changes in their recycling pick up day beginning next week, the Department of Sanitation announced Wednesday.
Residents who live east of Broadway, between the Broadway Bridge and Dyckman Street, will now have recycling pickup on Wednesdays.
Those that live from Dyckman Street to West 183rd Street, between Riverside and Hillside Avenue and Overlook Terrace and Broadway, will have their recycling picked up on Tuesdays.
Residents who live on West 183rd Street, between Bennett Avenue and Amsterdam Avenue, will also have their recycling picked up on Tuesday.
The department will not ticket buildings during the start-up phase of the changes, which come as a result of a DSNY study conducted with the help of Manhattan Community Board 12, which represents Washington Heights and Inwood, as well Community Boards 2, 5, 10 and 11.
In a public statement, DSNY said the changes aim to increase the efficiency of the department’s resources.
Residents with questions or interest in more information can contact 311 or visit the DSNY website.
