MANHATTAN — In a bizarre rendition of a eulogy for George Steinbrenner, Rush Limbaugh made a racial issue out of the Yankee legend's passing Tuesday.
"That cracker made a lot of African-American millionaires," Limbaugh said on his radio show Tuesday, emphasising the word 'cracker.' "And at the same time he fired a bunch of white guys."
The former Kansas City Royals play-by-play announcer and long-time king of right-wing talk radio didn't elaborate as to whether that was a good thing or a bad thing.
"What a man he was," Limbaugh concluded. "What a feature, what a character he was in Major League Baseball."
Limbaugh's comments didn't go over well in the African-American community.

"Obviously, I don't have a lot of regard for Rush, [but] it's a new low for him," said Rev. Al Sharpton.
Limbaugh has no love for New York or it's city taxes. The popular radio host complained about the city taxing the rich too much and put his East Side condo on the market earlier this year. It sold for $11.5 million last week, according to the Daily News.
