MANHATTAN — NFL star OchoCinco had quite the night in the Big Apple Sunday night, according to some bizarre updates on his Twitter feed.

OchoCinco, who was in New York for a variety of morning television appearances, claimed on Twitter at approximately 1:30 a.m. that he couldn't get in a club because he forgot his I.D.

"[T]he bouncer talking bout JETS JETS JETS," he tweeted.

That's when, according to Twitter, it got ugly.

"Damn I just got in a fight with the bouncer, them damn boxing sessions got me on point, at least the police let me keep tweetin n the car," he said.

The NYPD apparently declined to arrest him, instead, taking him to Starbucks after the bouncer got dropped off at the police station and charged with assault, according to his Twitter feed.

Then, OchoCinco checked in with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who is known for enforcing a strict code of conduct policy on and off the field for NFL players.

"Dad everything is ok here in NY, I have the situation under control," he said. "I turned the other cheek but he kept provoking me, thanks."

OchoCinco, who is set to appear on Fox and Friends and Good Day New York Monday morning, then apparently ended the night peacefully.

"Back at the club in ViP with 3 NYPD officers poppin bottles of cranberry n red bull, I went from being outside to having a ball! I love NY."

OchoCinco, who's name was Chad Johnson before he legally changed it to reflect his football jersey number, is known for his affection for Twitter as well as his bizarre behavior. So was he just messing around with his Twitter followers?

Around 6:45 a.m., the contentious star claimed it was all a joke.

"[T]hat's the power twitter, that was all a joke last night," he tweeted.
