MANHATTAN — Joe Torre no longer has the luxury of Mariano Rivera to shut the door on opponents at the end of games.
Robinson Cano hit a two-run homer in the 10th inning to give the Yankees an 8-6 win over Torre and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday night at Dodger Stadium.
Cano's blast came after the Bronx Bombers rallied for four runs off Dodgers closer Jonathan Broxton in the ninth inning. it marked the first time since 2007 that the Yankees rallied back from an four-run deficit in the ninth inning.
"It was our night," Joe Girardi said to reporters after the game. "It seems like it's our first real come-from-behind win we've had all year long. Sometimes, that can give you some momentum going forward."

Mariano Rivera (2-1) pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win in relief for New York.
"This is a tough game to recover from," Manager Joe Torre told the Los Angeles Times.
Alex Rodriguez had two hits for New York, including his 11th home run of the season in the sixth inning of Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw. It was Rodriguez's 594th career home run, leaving his just six shy of becoming the seventh player in major league history to hit 600 home runs.
The Yankees took two out of three against Torre's Dodgers to finish their six-game road trip at 4-2. New York returns home Monday and opens a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday.
The Yankees hold a slim two-game lead over the Boston Red Sox in the A.L. East standings.
