MANHATTAN — The 2-year-old son of a Libyan diplomat fell from an 18th floor balcony in Midtown to a terrace three floors below.

Ebrahim Aburawi survived and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, the New York Post reported.

Sources told the paper that the boy's father is Mohamed Aburawi, second secretary-general of the Libyan delegation to the United Nations.

The child fell from 333 East 46th Street at 12.50 p.m.

The boy's mother was in the bathroom when he fell, sources told the Post, and screamed once she saw he had fallen.

A worker at the building told the Post that the boy appeared unharmed on the 15th floor terrace.

The accident is being investigated by the Buildings Department.

No criminality was suspected, police said.
