MANHATTAN — New Yorkers should be thrilled to hear that alternate side parking rules were suspended Thursday, as they were Wednesday, for Shavuot, a Jewish holiday that is best known for its obscurity.
"One thing that Shavuot is known for," Wikipedia said of the holiday, which gave motorists this two-day reprieve on having to move their cars for street cleaning, "is being little-known."
Alternate-side parking rules will resume on Friday.
