MANHATTAN — A New York City man was arrested Thursday in connection with a bomb scare on a Manhattan-bound Greyhound bus in Portsmouth, N.H., the Associated Press reported.

The suspect, Calvin Segar, was charged with obstructing officers after New Hampshire state police responded and ordered the evacuation of several nearby blocks, NBC New York reported.

The day-long incident began when a passenger called 911 after allegedly overhearing another passenger say that a bomb was on the bus, according to the AP.

The overheard passenger refused to leave the bus for hours but in the end, would not be charged, the AP reported.

Authorities charged another passenger, John Smolens of Lewiston, Maine, with resisting arrest after he stepped off the bus, the news service reported.

Segar and Smolens  were scheduled to be arraigned in Portsmouth on Friday.
