MANHATTAN — It looks like Apple fans who waited on long lines to be the first people to get the new iPad are already about to be behind the times.

The new iPad Wi-Fi + 3G models will start shipping to customers on April 30 and will be available in Apple stores the same day starting at 5 p.m.

Apple customers grew concerned earlier this week when it was announced that 3G pre-orders would not arrive until May 7, according to PC World. Apple responded that iPads pre-ordered in march will arrive by “late April”.

The Apple announcement does not mention when the latest iPad will be available in other retail outlets like Best Buy.

The Wi-Fi + 3G models will run consumers $629 for the cheapest model and $829 for the most expensive.
