MANHATTAN — Recently engaged actress, Hilary Duff, prepared for married life at Good Housekeeping's 125th Anniversary Gala last night in Midtown.

The former Disney Channel star was looking very adult in a grey chiffon dress and walnut-sized engagement diamond.

Famous moms, Meryl Streep and Brook Shields, joined housekeeping queen Martha Stewart for the evening affair.

Nearby, starlets Maggie Gyllenhaal and Chloe Sevigny mingled with an older crowd of celebrities for the gala permiere of 'Armida' at The Metropolitan Opera House.

The sophisticated guest list included actors John Lithgow, Bette Midler and "The Good Wife" star, Julianna Margulies.

Yet another meeting of the generations took place on West 36th Street, where an unusually dapper Woody Allen, silver fox Ted Danson and William H. Macy partied with youngins Jesse Eisenberg and Jessica Alba at the Atlantic Theater Company's 2010 Spring Gala.

The gala, which some partygoers paid $25,000 to attend, was held at Gotham Hall.
