LOWER MANHATTAN —The city wants to strip the operating license of the man who was manning a crane when it crashed into a Financial District building last weekend.

The Office of Administrative and Trials and Hearings (OATH) will decide on April 21 if Christopher Cosban, who was at the helm of the crane that struck a 25-story building on Maiden Lane last Saturday, can retain his  operator's license.

At Crosban's first OATH hearing on Thursday, officials said they will aim to make his temporary suspension permanent.

"We hope to permanently revoke his crane operator's license in the city," an official stated.

The Department of Buildings temporarily suspended Cosban's license after the incident, in which no one was injured.
