MANHATTAN — The owners of Sony’s Madison Avenue flagship store face up to a $25,000 fine after a glass atrium shattered at a party that featured reality show stars Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Vinny Guadagnino.
“We thought the dj was beatin the beat hardcore but nope, the roof couldn't handle snooki and vin,” Polizzi tweeted Saturday night.
The Buildings Department had issued an advisory to the Midtown building's owners the day before the accident, warning them to properly clear away snow or ice from the atrium to avoid a hazard, a department spokesperson told the New York Times.
Luckily for the uninjured partygoers, the party went on with some help from the Solo Restaurant, Polizzi reported.
“I'm glad everyone's ok. Thank you to the owners of Solo Restaurant for taking care of everybody and letting us keep the Purim Party poppin!” she tweeted.
Eight people were treated at New-York Presbyterian hospital for minor injuries after Saturday’s glass cascade.
“I thought I was going to die,” one partygoer told the Daily News.
The city and the building owners were working to clear up the mess, a Buildings Department spokesman told the News.
