MANHATTAN — Manhattan will get another round of wintry weather as a snowstorm brings three to six inches to the city starting Monday night.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm advisory, but forecasters say the storm won't be as severe as last week's blizzard that closed city schools for only the third time in six years.
The snow is expected to start falling Monday evening and continue through Tuesday morning with more bands of light snow continuing to move through until Tuesday evening, according to reports.
The storm could bring anywhere from one to six inches of snow to Manhattan depending on how much rain mixes with the snow. A rain/snow mix would likely result in one to three inches but if there's little to no mixing, higher snow amounts are more likely.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory for the area meaning that snow, sleet or freezing rain may cause roads to be slippery. The advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Temperatures Monday night will drop into the low 30s with a high of 35 degrees on Tuesday, meteorologists said.
